Hello!
If yous know the password with which you encrypted the drive, you can boot using Windows 7 DVD.
and use:
manage-bde -unlock c: -password
manage-bde -off c:
where c: is the desired drive.
This shall prompt you for the password and begin decrypting ( not temporary unlocking! ) the bulldoze.
After this, wait and check the decryption condition with
manage-bde -status c:

I frequently enquire my clients why they think they demand to invoke bitlocker? Especially considering the risks and this is a stunning instance. For most, with petty or nothing to gamble in the way of personal and critical information loss, information technology is simply an unnecessary thing to do with risks attached.
Fleck locker is great for a computer used to store critically confidential data. Very few people have that demand.

The problem is, I have the bitlocker countersign, and have no problem entering it, but once Windows loads, I don't have the user account password, and then I'thousand stuck. I can't change the user countersign or admission files externally because of bitlocker. I'll try the proposition another user gave, hopefully information technology'll piece of work, thanks for your response.

So what you're maxim is to kicking using a Windows 7 DVD and from command prompt that command volition remove the password encryption and effectively decrypt the drive after inbound the bitlocker password?
If that's what information technology does, that should be the solution, I'll give that a shot and let you know if information technology works.

The whole story is actually, I work on computers for a living, 1 of my customers left the company he worked for virtually 4 years agone, but they gave him the laptop he used at work. He has the bitlocker countersign, but because the company set it upwards, he doesn't accept the recovery cardinal. I asked him to contact the visitor to see if they by chance saved information technology all these years. His user business relationship used to be set to auto log in after inputting the bitlocker password, so he never had to type in his user password. One day he was messing effectually with some settings, and at present it always asks for the password to log in. Removing the bitlocker password will allow me to access the bulldoze externally and either backup his files or remove/modify the password. I hope this works.

I gave it a shot, looks like it just works if running it in Windows. It says, "ERROR: Invalid Syntax "-password" was not understood. My customer gave up since he needs it to take an online class, and so he decided to merely wipe his info and reinstall Windows. :/ Different him, I'd notwithstanding like to know if at that place's a way to do it without the recovery cardinal, considering from my experience, if there's a chance you lot'll forget your password, there'due south a bigger chance you'll lose a tiny USB drive. lol
If simply he didn't have the user account countersign, I could have helped him remove the bitlocker encryption, and if he didn't have bitlocker encryption, I could accept helped him remove his user password, the combination was just as well much. :(

Too late now haha The drive has been reformatted. I cannot check information technology now, what was the original mode you lot had it typed? I'g wondering what was typed incorrect.
